Talel McBriar is singer-songwriter currently based out of Victoria BC. While her sound merges traditional folk with alternative rock influences, the 24-year-old’s haunting voice delivers reflective and insightful lyrics. Delivered through stirring vocals and emotive instrumentals, Talel's lyrics honestly confront her anxieties about the world within and around her. "Talel effortlessly conveys her discomfort with the present times in a way I once thought required three or four times her life experience," says Josh Lehman, producer of The 6 Mile Sessions. In 2018, her original song October won her and bandmate Ella Korth a Kootenay Music Award for ‘Best Original Roots Song.’ Following the release of multiple music videos and a single in May 2021, Talel's debut EP titled Flood Season was released on July 8th, 2022. Most recently Talel released Not a Machine in March 2024 and took a step further into the alternative folk realm, a sound that precedes and fortells her upcoming debut album.
